Every graduate, introduced to the career they trained for.
No cost to your school. No cost to your graduates. Prax is a placement partner for trade schools, paid only by the employers who hire. Alix and Jessica work beside your career office, or become it.
Start a partnership conversation
A letter to the people who train the trades.
Your students spend months learning to wire a panel, braze a line set, and read a print. The hard part shouldn’t be the first job. Jessica led hiring across more than 35 locations for a restoration and construction company, and Alix spent nearly three years in its commercial accounts. We know what employers in these trades look for.
We’d like to be your partner in what happens after graduation. We’ll learn your programs, meet your students one by one, and introduce each of them to an employer we’d put our names behind. Then we’ll keep checking in, long after the first paycheck.
Alix and Jessica, founders of Prax
Three ways to partner.
Every school is different. The partnership takes the shape your career office needs.
Beside your team
If you have a career office, we work hand in hand with your director and bring the employer relationships and introductions your office doesn’t have yet.
Extra hands at graduation
If a cohort outgrows one office, we take on a share of your students and place them as carefully as our own candidates.
Your placement office
If you don’t have a placement office, we run placement end to end, from the first student conversation to the 90-day check-in.
What the first term looks like
Learn the school
In weeks 1 and 2, we visit campus, meet your career team and instructors, sit in on the shop, and learn each program and graduation date.
Map programs to careers
In weeks 3 and 4, we build a one-page map from each of your programs to the roles employers are hiring for now.
Get students jobsite-ready
From week 5, we run workshops on trade résumés and interviews, and meet one on one with every graduating student.
Make introductions
From week 8, we hold an Introduction Day on campus with hiring employers, then introduce students one by one, explaining the fit to both sides.
Stay invested
After graduation, we check in with every graduate we place at 30, 60, and 90 days, and send your school a term-end report: who was placed, where, and how they’re doing.
Where your programs lead.
An example of the map we build with each school. Commercial real estate is the path most schools miss: every building needs people who can keep its systems running.
